Julio Borges estuvo en la reunión de la Red Europea de Ideas
que dirige Jaime Mayor Oreja que centró este año sus debates
en el impacto social de la crisis económica y financiera,
las vías de recuperación y el futuro
de las relaciones entre Europa y Estados Unidos.
En el encuentro, que concluyó el sábado,
en la ciudad de Viena - Austria
interveno medio centenar de responsables políticos,
eurodiputados, profesores universitarios, periodistas,
investigadores y expertos de instituciones públicas and private.

, Durao Barroso and Jerzy Buzek, respectively;
President of the European People's Party, Wilfried Martens,
the foreign ministers of Italy, Franco Frattini, and Austria
Michael Spindelegger;
Austrian Vice Chancellor and Finance Minister Josef Proll, former president of Mexico
and current co-president of the Centrist Democrat International (CDI),
Vicente Fox and President of the EPP, Joseph Daul,
and various European Commissioners.
Under the patronage of the PPE, the European Ideas Network has since become
its creation in 2002
at the meeting point of a network of professional experts, academics and politicians
which
discuss the political challenges of the European Union's long-term channels
and work on over
Europe 40 foundations and institutes
thought linked to the center-right in Europe.
