How Do Hiv Rashes Feel

The unity of the opposition has been the rule rather than the exception

Chat live with
national coordinator of Primero Justicia, Julio Borges

The leader of Primero Justicia spoke with users of El-Nacional.com on upcoming parliamentary elections, his view of the opposition and Leopoldo López. "We spend too much time talking about what the government wants to talk (Chavez) and that's a mistake. We must have more discipline and do not get out of the focus of people's problems"

Julio Andrés Borges has spent eleven years in public life, from driving a program called "The Country in Motion" to Venezolana de Television in 1998, and then another program called "Justice for All" in RCTV. At the same time, its civil organization, First Justice, became a political party and ran to him for a seat in the National Assembly, where he worked until 2005, when the opposition decided not to withdraw completely agree with the electoral rules of the moment.

Borges, who participated in a chat with users of El-Nacional.com , admits that this move was a mistake. But he also sees it as an example that opposition unity is possible. "[We achieved a unit] 100%", explains, "and unfortunately, many of those promoting the card today only promoted the removal of parliament and we know the outcome."
"The presidential election and Teodoro Rosales [is another example].

In my case the difference Rosales was less than five points and I retired and we drive. For the reform of 2007 was achieved for the amendment this year. Sure I think [the unit] and it has always been the rule rather than the exception in these years. "

In that regard, Borges points out that despite different ideologies and visions, has achieved unity in the opposition" because we are a plural country, without division, without repression, without insult, without fear, where people can choose and grow. Primero Justicia sums it up, a Venezuela to everyone equally. This time, as in 2005, and I hope we will achieve that without the idea of withdrawing from the elections. We can win the majority of the AN.

That was a major concerns of chat participants, because with the recent amendment to the Electoral Act, some argue that the ruling faction could win several seats without necessarily achieving a majority. For many, this unit is the only counter-attack against the ruling, which still manages to communicate with many of the popular sectors. But Borges is convinced not only that the entire opposition leadership will work to achieve that majority in the NA, but their message will reach the masses.

"Les I have two nearby examples, Carlos Ocariz and Henrique Capriles," said Borges. "The difference is that the public spend too much time talking about what he wants the government to talk (Chavez) and that's a mistake. We must have more discipline and do not get out of the focus of people's problems. In our country millions of Venezuelans go to bed without eating or out of work and we spend too much time talking about what the government wants us to speak: the Venice Film Festival, the bases in Colombia, Honduras and the follies of Chavez at the UN, or Margarita summit. But who speaks for the poor and needy in our country? It seems that we have left that field and only the government is wrong. "

Asked in this aspect, Borges said he believes that is living in a dictatorship" and it must be said clearly, "but could not stay on that alone. "The only thing that destroys a dictatorship is hope, hope for a better world, a different country, that's where we failed," he said. "We are good at complaining, but bad articles to open a door to the future. I go back to what I said before, transform despair into a collective ideal delivery, a party, an NGO ..."

In these elections in the NA, Borges believes that each case must be studied separately, and he cites the recent regional elections: César Pérez Vivas won a primary for governor of Tachira, Henrique Capriles Miranda won the election by poll; and Antonio Ledezma is mayor of Caracas by consensus. So, wants the next year the opposition will have about 5,500 candidates for the Assembly and Council, and that primaries are used only in those places where there are several strong leaders, he states that all sides would make them too expensive.

Considers that, and by the way they are wasting space in the media, should be priority candidates for deputies and spokespersons of the opposition in this election. "We need leaders, not Messiah," he said.
And so he raised the issue of Leopoldo Lopez, mayor of Chacao and former director of the popular network program. His work has generated off, say some; "cókmo has been its relationship with the Bureau of the Unit?

"I want to tell everyone that since the inception of the table, meets every week," said Borges. "And every week Leopoldo invited to attend, he sent the minutes, he sent the papers. He was a couple of times and was no more. I take this means to say that we must work together, and invited back to work together.

"It is time for the limelight, but to learn from mistakes and keep growing," Borges said to close. "Remember you that the solution to Venezuela's military in political parties. Choose the one you want. Merge a new one, but not left alone in the criticism, everyone can contribute their grain of sand. The policy is to create together! "

"European Union should declare an emergency in the case of Venezuela"

Under the annual meeting of Ideas for Europe held in Vienna, the national coordinator of Primero Justicia, Julio Borges, I urge the EU to consider the case of Venezuela as a matter of urgency due to the deterioration in human rights and democratic quality. Julio Borges

emphatically expressed in the forum, that "anything worth electoral observation missions to developing European Union since 1993 if there is no zealous monitoring of faults and recommendations for each process. For the parliamentary elections of 2010, we need a full presence of the EU during the process and the commitment to find that the statements made will be corrected, "he said.

Similarly, he said, that in previous cases stated in the EU its report on failures in Venezuela "lack of transparency of the electoral register, the imbalance of pro-government media and the disrespect for minority representation. These three issues are in worse shape and the EU must be insistent in pressing for correction, "he said Julio Borges.

The event counted with the presence of José Manuel Barroso, European Commission President, Wilfried Martens, former Prime Minister of Belgium, Foreign Minister of Italy, Franco Frattini, the Prime Minister of Albania Sali Ram Berisha, Jaime Mayor Oreja, vice president of the Party European People, Jerzy Buzek, European Parliament President and former Prime Minister of Poland. Similarly

Julio Borges proposed to the EU the power to develop visits to monitor the quality of human rights in the region, especially in Venezuela, "in my country you live close to the media, the use of justice against who think differently, excessive oil to corrupt democracy in the region, the purchase of arms to live in pre-war, education for awareness kidnapping, each of these situations requires the attention and international solidarity so that we can restore human rights in Venezuela. The important thing is to build a relationship between Europe and Latin America based on values, and the guidance of those values must be the defense of human dignity by making concrete human rights in both regions, "said Borges.
Finally
Julio Borges appeal to the terrorist threat overshadows Europe and caught the attention as governments like Venezuela develop partnerships with governments such as Iran, Belarus, Libya or disrespectful to their villages and destroy their liberties, while being real threats to peace and western values; face this reality, only the more common values and cultural and commercial exchange, we will defeat those who want to destroy democracy and its values. "

For his part, former President of Mexico Vicente Fox, who was the other Latin American invited to the forum, stated that the populist and totalitarian tendency of some governments in Latin America pushes back the true integration of our peoples. Chávez destroyed the group of 3 , the Andean community of nations and damage any relationship that interferes with the end of political dominance, said the former president. "Unfortunately, I highlight the trend of this false left is to destroy everything and impoverish their people. "

Similarly, former President Fox contrasted as populists like Venezuela countries do not grow the economy and employment, while countries with open economies and grow healthy progress opportunities for people.

The Ideas for Europe meeting takes place on an annual basis to assist in the construction of the agenda of the popular parties of the European Union, this year held in the city of Vienna, Austria.
